Jim Dick

Grandson of Montana homesteaders, Jim was born and raised on a wheat farm located on the prairie of the Fort Peck Indian Reservation . A self-taught and passionate artist, he has been painting with oils for the last 40 years. Known for his realistic landscapes that capture a 'sense of place', he begins each piece with a plein air study on location. Capturing and evoking the emotional impact of the 'place' through use of composition, light, value, color and brushwork is his goal. Jim is best known for his western landscapes, some of which feature a Native American historical perspective of the west with teepees and Indian camps.

Jim Dick's unique style of Western Realism is recognized and sought by fine art admirers and collectors from around the world.
